If you’re not familiar with the FreeMax Mesh Pro by now, you’re likely new to vaping or don’t follow vape content online. FreeMax launched one of the most aggressive social media pushes in recent memory to promote the Mesh Pro—with sample kits showing up everywhere. Pair that with an outstanding product, and it’s no surprise this tank became a top pick in the sub-ohm world.
The Mesh Pro really is that good. And that’s not just my opinion—ask around. For a deep dive into the tank itself, check out my full review, and explore others for a broader take.
When I first tested the tank, I had access to various coils: Single Mesh Kanthal, Single Mesh SS316L, Double Mesh Kanthal, and Triple Mesh Kanthal. While they all performed excellently, the Double and Triple Mesh coils stood out for me—and I think most users will feel the same. So now FreeMax has dropped a Quad Mesh coil (and who knows—Quintuple and Sextuple might be on the way!). But does adding another coil make a big difference?
Typically, more coils mean higher wattage demands, more juice consumption, and hopefully more flavor. But when it comes to the Mesh Pro Quad Mesh coil, these assumptions don’t fully apply.
Yes, it supports higher wattage than the Triple Mesh, but I found the sweet spot around 85-90W—same as the Triple. I didn’t notice an increase in e-liquid usage either. As for flavor? I was expecting a leap forward, but… the improvement over the Triple Mesh is subtle at best. Even pushing the wattage higher didn’t yield much difference.
That said, the Quad Mesh coils are still fantastic—they just don’t outperform the Triple Mesh in a big way. They offer great longevity too. I ran 80mL of sweet juice through two coils and they stayed consistent.
If you’re curious about the Quad Mesh Coils, they’re definitely worth trying, just don’t expect them to completely outshine the Triple or Double Mesh options. Also keep in mind they tend to be priced a bit higher.
